Not sure what prompted Zak’s comment, or how he knew what the pumpkin was thinking. As I’m looking at the beauty of this common delight, I’m thinking it might be a GOOD thing to meditate like a pumpkin!
I’ve read for weeks, “I realize the dominating thoughts of my mind will eventually reproduce themselves in outward, physical action and gradually transform themselves into physical reality, therefore, I concentrate my thoughts for thirty minutes daily upon the task of thinking of the person I intend to become, thereby creating in my mind a clear mental picture of that person.” (Blueprint Builder, Second step, taken from Napoleon Hill’s THINK AND GROW RICH.)
And now I’m reading: Haanel 3:2-3 …What is the most natural way of making the desired impression (on the subconscious mind)? Mentally concentrate on the object of your desire; when you are concentrating, you are impressing the subconscious. This is not the only way, but it is a simple and effective way, and the most direct way, and consequently the way in which the best results are secured.
Concentrating my thoughts is the most simple, effective and direct way of changing my subconscious, which is the “fountain of the practical initiative and construction forces of life;… it is the source of ideals, of aspiration, of the imagination…. (Haanel 3:25-26)
Changing my thinking changes my subconscious, changing my subconscious changes my habits and my life.
Concentrating my thoughts is a new process for me. My thoughts need to be brought back to the truth of the path I’m on multiple times each hour and sometimes multiple times in a minute! I am trusting the process of new habit formation (consistently reading the scrolls and completing and celebrating my task accomplishments), gently guiding my mind along the growth path it needs to be on… focusing my thoughts specifically on the person I intend to become. I am Trusting the process to lead me to success.
Moving forward, mediating and focusing … like a pumpkin!
